Suspect backs car into cop after chase, flees

EAST LOS ANGELES Authorities said the incident began when the officer spotted the driver run a red light on Eastern Avenue near Whittier Boulevard. The driver attempted to flee briefly, but then pulled over.

When the officer pulled up behind him, the suspect put his car in reverse, pinning the officer and his bike against a fence.

The suspect then got out of the vehicle, which was reported stolen, and fled the scene. He remains at-large on Wednesday. Police said the officer is OK.

The suspect was described as a Latino male, 25 to 30 years old, 5 foot 6 inches to 5 foot 9 inches tall, wearing blue shorts, a white T-shirt and white shoes.
