The brand new musical "Leap of Faith" has Shields thrilled, and a bit unnerved, because it's forced her out of her comfort zone.
"At the end of the day, you've grown so much and you think, 'This is a good example for my girls, this is a good example as an actor.' I'm never gonna get to another level unless I keep shoving myself in these deep waters. "
"Leap of Faith" is making its world premiere at the Ahmanson Theatre. And that's something L.A. audiences don't get to see all that often.
"I think it's a real gift for people because you're watching the creation," said Shields. "It's happening right there and they get to be a part of it."
