Study: Breast cancer linked to tissue density

LOS ANGELES Researchers at /*Kaiser Permanente*/ studied a group of 935 women who were treated for an early, noninvasive form of the disease and did not get a mastectomy.

They found those with the densest breast tissue had three times the risk of developing cancer in the opposite breast, one-and-a-half times the risk of getting cancer again in the same breast, and twice the risk of being diagnosed with invasive cancer in either breast.

Doctors said the research will help /*breast cancer*/ patients make better-informed decisions about their treatment.
