Mercedes recalls 85K cars for steering issue

LOS ANGELES The recall affects 2010 Mercedes C-Class cars, as well as 2010 and 2011 E-Class coupe and cabriolet models.

The carmaker says the vehicles' steering systems could fail due to a loss of power steering fluid.

Mercedes-Benz says drivers could lose some control of their vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners can return cars to dealers for a free power steering check.
