O.C. mom turns to Facebook after hit-and-run

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. Nicholas Hargraves was on his bike in Lake Forest on Oct. 6 when he was hit by a woman driving a black Mercedes who fled after the accident.

"She rolled down her window, and she was like, 'Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't even see you.' I went back to the sidewalk, and I realized she had left," Hargraves said.

Hargraves suffered road rash and a separated shoulder.

His mother Cami Stanley logged on to Facebook to ask for witnesses to come forward with information about the accident.

"I just thought, you know what, there's a chance that somebody might say, 'Hey, that's my neighbor,'" she said.

Stanley said within 24 hours, the feedback was pouring in.

"Just these random people that I don't know, contacting me stating that they're putting the information on their websites, not just Facebook, websites," Stanley said.

The hit-and-run driver is described as a white woman, between 20 and 40 years old, with blond hair and freckles. She is believed to have been driving a late model, black C-Class Mercedes, with five-spoke alloy wheels.
