Cool Kid strives to make a difference

UPLAND, Calif. "Because I was actually in a wheelchair for more than a year for different injuries I've had. And I was one of the lucky people that got to get out of the wheelchair. And I just wanted to do something to give back to some of the less fortunate people," said Machado.

With sponsors and donations, Machado raised more than $30,000 during his ride. In addition to raising money, he also wanted to raise awareness.

"I just wanted to show people that it doesn't matter what you're struggling with, that you can always make a difference and I wanted to encourage more people to get out and make a difference," said Machado.

Machado has been able to help many people with his efforts, including a young boy who had been facing neurological obstacles all his life.

"We gave him a gift certificate for 50 sessions to neuro-bio feedback which is valued at about $7,000. Since he's been taking those he's shown tremendous results," said Machado.

No matter the situation, Machado feels people can always do something for others in need.

"Even if you have your own problems in your life and things that happen to you, you can always still help someone out and give them another chance," said Machado.

He's a person who truly shows and teaches the value of giving.
