Teen raped in South L.A.; suspects at large

SOUTH LOS ANGELES The incident was on Aug. 11, but police have stepped up their search because a sketch is now available.

Authorities said the victim was walking home from a festival at a nearby park when she noticed she was being followed by two men at about 7 p.m. She started to run, and the men chased her.

The men cornered her in a carport behind an apartment complex on the 4000 block of Coco Avenue, and one of the suspects raped the girl.

After the rape, the second man also tried to rape the girl, but she was able to get up and run away before the second attack. The suspects chased her to her house.

The suspect who raped the girl was described as a male Hispanic in his 20s with black hair and brown eyes. He had a black mole on his right shoulder and a tattoo of a circle with a star inside of it on his chest. He was described as about 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with a black mole on his shoulder and a tattoo of a star inside a circle on his chest. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and blue Dickies pants.

The second man was described only as a black male.
