James Cameron pledges $1M to fight Prop 23

SACRAMENTO, Calif. If approved by Californians in November, Proposition 23 would suspend the state's /*greenhouse gas*/ reduction law until California's unemployment rate drops to 5.5 percent for four quarters in a row.

The measure was signed into law in 2006, and its goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to levels found in 1990. AB 32 also aims to promoted development in clean industries.

In addition to Cameron, green tech advocates, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and others also oppose the proposition, according to the Sacramento Bee.
