Camarillo offers driving classes for seniors

The Camarillo Police Dept. created a driving program for senior-citizen drivers. The program is designed to educate seniors about driving dangers.The class will be open to drivers 60 years or older. The program is also open to caregivers.

The purpose of the class is to remind senior drivers to "remain proactive and not reactive," according to the department, and to raise awareness and reduce injuries and deaths due to collisions. The class aims to inform how age can affect driving

The Senior Drivers Program will offer lecture, alternate forms of transportation ideas and numerous handouts, according to the department.

The class is free, but space is limited to 30 senior drivers.
