Police said the boy took off in a pick-up truck stolen from the city fire department.
The chase ended when his mother stepped in front of the truck.
The boy was released to a guardian.
Then on Tuesday, police said the boy took an SUV.
When police stopped him and asked him why he'd stolen the vehicle, he said he was tired of walking.
