Escaped Apple Valley parolee caught by CHP

Parolee William Quantrille, 26, escaped an Apple Valley halfway house Tuesday morning but was caught by California Highway Patrol officers later that same day.

A parolee who shed his ankle bracelet and fled a halfway house in Apple Valley Tuesday morning was caught by police.William Quantrille was apprehended by California Highway Patrol officers near the 138 Highway and the Interstate 15 intersection on Tuesday night.

Quantrille went missing from a halfway house at 13874 Choco Rd. around 5 a.m. after he removed a tracking bracelet from his ankle.

The 26-year-old has a record of sex crimes against a child and has Asperger syndrome.

He was taken into custody at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga and was being held without bail.
