A Central California woman, who won a million-dollar settlement with her former employer after being spanked, finally has the right to collect her money. Janet Orlando was spanked in front of coworkers at the Anaheim-based Alarm One Inc. where she was a saleswoman.

Company officials said it was a team-building exercise in which employees spanked each other with competitors' yard signs.

Orlando claimed she was embarrassed and emotionally scarred. She won her court case four years ago.

The company appealed, but a Fresno judge said the company has to pay Orlando $1.4 million.
