Body of slain LAPD officer arrives in U.S.

The body of a Los Angeles police officer killed by a bomb in Afghanistan returned home Thursday.The body of Officer Joshua Cullins arrived at the Los Angeles International airport with an honors ceremony.

Cullins, 28, joined the Los Angeles Police Department in July 2008.

He was serving with the Marines in Afghanistan as an explosives ordinance disposal officer.

Cullins was killed Oct. 18 after his unit was called in to check out a roadside bomb that had detonated. He was killed when a secondary device went off.
