Third time Pfizer recalls Lipitor over odor

LOS ANGELES The recall involved 38,000 bottles, each containing 90 Lipitor tables in a 40 milligram dose.

The company said it received two consumer complaints about the smell of the Lipitor bottles.

These bottles were manufactured by another company in Puerto Rico.

Pfizer said the odor was caused by a chemical found on wooden pallets used to store and ship the bottles.

This is the third Lipitor recall over odor issues in three months.
