Paul the Octopus named successor in Germany

November 3, 2010 12:00:00 AM PDT
It's not a political succession, but this event is making a splash across the world. A 5-month-old octopus has been named a successor to "Paul the Octopus" at an aquarium in Germany.

Paul, who died last week, made a name for itself by correctly predicting the outcome of 8 world cup matches.

The new octopus has been named "Paul the Second," but it is not clear if this sea creature will be using his tentacles to forecast future soccer matches.
