A wanted sex offender was shot and killed by detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department on Thursday.

Authorities identified the man as 41-year-old Nathaniel Henry. The parolee had removed his tracking device on Sept. 9, and police had been looking for him ever since.

Detectives found Henry at a residence in the 7600 block of Camp Rock Road on Thursday. When the detectives approached him, they say Henry pointed a weapon at them, forcing detectives to open fire.

Henry was pronounced dead at the scene.
