Robert De Niro wins Cecile achievement award

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. The announcement came from Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey.

"Now, I'll give you a hint. Any lover of film will tell you that some of cinema's most unforgettable moments have been created by this year's Cecil B. DeMille's honoree. The great, the one and only, Mr. Robert De Niro," said Spacey.

De Niro will receive the award at the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011.

De Niro has been nominated for eight golden globe awards in both the comedy and drama categories, winning once for "Raging Bull."

He's also won two Academy Awards and the Kennedy Center Honor.

The Cecil B. DeMille Award is given annually to actors who have made an incredible impact on the entertainment world. Recent recipients include Martin Scorsese in 2010, Steven Spielberg in 2009, Warren Beatty in 2007 and Anthony Hopkins in 2006.
