Report shows ADHD on the rise among kids

November 10, 2010 12:00:00 AM PST
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a study that shows attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is on the rise. The new study said that one in 10 children ages 4 through 17 has been diagnosed with ADHD.

That compares to a 2003 survey that found fewer than 8 percent of kids had been diagnosed with the disorder.

The condition makes it hard for kids to pay attention and control impulsive behavior.
