Murrieta hospital most-fined in state history
MURRIETA, Calif. The California Dept. of Health announced Friday a $25,000 fine for Southwest Healthcare System in Murrieta.
The health department says the penalty comes from a 2008 surgery when a 10-inch instrument was left inside a patient.
This is the hospital's seventh fine from the state, a new record for one facility.
Meanwhile fines were announced Friday for seven other Southern California hospitals as well.
