Man gets misdemeanor in crash that killed 4

The truck driver who slammed into an SUV, killing a family of four in February, will face a misdemeanor charge.George Pelonis of Norwalk was driving a big rig on Interstate 15 in Ontario on Feb. 13 when he crashed into a vehicle carrying Moreno Valley football coach Ryan Villalpando, his wife and their two young children.

All four died in the crash.

Prosecutors have now filed a single charge of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, which carries up to a year in prison.

The district attorney's office said there was no evidence of gross negligence in the crash.
