LOS ANGELES About 17 percent of women and three percent of men are sensitive to nickel. Women often discover it through wearing different kinds of jewelry.

A growing number of people have been complaining of itchy rashes along their faces and even on their fingertips, right where they hold their cell phones.

One doctor at Winthrop University in New York suggested more people are discovering the allergy in part because of a rise in unlimited usage plans.
