TSA defends controversial pat-downs

WASHINGTON John Pistole said he understands the privacy concerns with the methods but he said he has gotten the pat-down himself and noted that it is all in the name of safety.

"I am very sensitive to, and concerned about people's privacy concerns, and I want to work through that as best we can. The bottom line is we need to provide for the best possible security."

The pat-downs can be chosen as an alternative to full body scanning, which some people have complained is too revealing.
