RVs banned from parking overnight in Venice

VENICE, Calif. The Los Angeles City Council unanimously approved Wednesday an emergency ordinance that will ban the vehicles from parking between Lincoln Boulevard and Ocean Front Walk and between Santa Monica and Marina del Rey between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Vehicles 22 feet long and or seven feet high will be under the new restrictions.

Warning signs will be posted on blocks were two-thirds of residents petitioned for the overnight parking restrictions.

The California Coastal Commission previously denied the city's attempt to establish resident-only overnight parking zones. This ordinance does not require the commission's approval.

It will take effect within weeks of being signed by the mayor.
