Golden Globes owner sues producing company

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which awards the Golden Globes, is suing Dick Clark Productions for alleged trademark infringement and breach of contract.The Hollywood Foreign Press claims Dick Clark Productions, which has produced the awards show for decades, made a deal with NBC to broadcast the show through 2018 without its consent.

Dick Clark Productions said the Hollywood Foreign Press is "attempting to try this case in the court of public opinion."

It's unclear whether the dispute will affect the broadcast of next year's show, which is scheduled to air in January.
