Toxic site in Whittier to be cleaned up

WHITTIER, Calif. From 1976 to 1991 the site housed a facility that treated and recycled used solvents. The Environmental Protection Agency says soil and groundwater at the site are contaminated with high levels of toxic materials.

The EPA announced Friday that a total of 169 companies that used the site will pay about $7 million each for the cleanup.
