Dead body found floating in Venice canal

VENICE, Calif. A caller reported seeing the body floating two blocks south of Venice Boulevard just before 8:30 a.m.

Authorities sent an engine top the 2300 block of Grand Canal Court.

Firefighters used a surfboard to pull the remains.

A /*Los Angeles Police Department*/ watch officer confirmed police were gathering information there.

Police say the victim may have been a transient.
