Community mourns slain Long Beach 14-year-old

Community members gathered in Long Beach Saturday to remember a 14-year-old boy who was shot and killed in his home.Eduardo Rodriguez answered the front door at his house on Wednesday, and was shot through the metal screen.

Investigators believe the gunman was targeting a relative with gang ties.

At the vigil, the boy's mother was overcome with emotion, as were many others in the crowd.

Family members say Rodriguez was a straight-A student who planned to go to UC Berkeley. He was a 9th-grader at Jordan High School Freshman Academy.

His killer is still on the loose.
