New study links divorce, risk of stroke

LOS ANGELES It found that people whose parents had divorced earlier in life had double the risk of suffering a stroke. They say this link existed, even when taking into account factors like diabetes, obesity and smoking.

But researchers say there are some factors they could not investigate, like diet, socioeconomic status, or family history of stroke, and that the results need to be replicated in another study.
