Robbery duo hits 2 restaurants in Moorpark

MOORPARK, Calif. In the first incident, a Hispanic male entered Carla's Bakery located at 391 W. Los Angeles Ave. around 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

The suspect demanded money from an employee while wielding a knife. When the employee refused and another employee came to help, the suspect left the restaurant, got into a getaway car driven by a Hispanic female and fled the scene.

The bakery employees alerted police. While officers were headed there, they were called to the scene of a nearby Wendy's at 520 E. Los Angeles Ave. where a robbery had just occurred.

In that incident, a Hispanic male matching the description of the suspect who tried to hold up Carla's Bakery, demanded money from an employee while holding one hand inside of his jacket pocket, signaling that he was armed.

The threatened employee gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect fled the scene in the same getaway car as the previous robbery attempt.

Moorpark police said the crimes were most likely committed by the same robbery duo.
