O.C. storage-unit burglars caught with loot

WESTMINSTER, Calif. The recovered property includes tools, furniture, antiques, clothing and appliances - mostly believed to be stolen from storage units in or near /*Westminster*/.

Police will display the loot on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Carr Towing located on 6392 Maple St.

The items were recovered when police arrested Rex Loggans and Juan Villanueva on Nov. 18 for allegedly breaking into a Mini-U Storage unit in the 13000 block of Goldenwest Street. Police said the two may be suspected in 30 similar storage-unit burglaries.

Authorities found that the two Ford vehicles and a trailer driven by Loggans and Villanueva were filled with stolen property.

Both are free on bond after being booked on charges of felony burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and possession of controlled substances.

Victims of storage-locker burglaries who want to look over the loot need to bring a photo ID, the case number of their filed police report and any other evidence of ownership, such as photographs, manuals, self-inscribed numbers or other identifying marks.
