Company presents apple that keeps fresh color

November 29, 2010 12:00:00 AM PST
A biotechnology company in Summerland, Canada is seeking U.S. approval for a genetically modified apple that keeps its color when bitten or sliced. Apples turn brown once the skin has been compromised, but this new enhanced apple called the Arctic apple does not change color.

Officials said they need to know what the cost would be to plant the apple and if people would be willing to consume it.
