Fruits, veggies linked to healthier arteries

A new study found that children who eat plenty of fruits and vegetables have healthier arteries as adults. Arterial stiffness is tied to hardening of the arteries, which is a key factor in heart disease.

Finnish researchers looked at 16,000 Finns who were followed for 27 years. Results showed that those who ate fewer vegetables like children tended to test as having stiffer arteries.
