Morgan Freeman and former U.S. President Bill Clinton recently spoke on behalf of the United States in presentation of its bid to host the 2022 World Cup.

The United States is one of five countries that stated their cases in front of the FIFA Executive Committee in Switzerland on Wednesday and the committee will vote and decide on Thursday where the soccer championships will take place, according to the official Major League Soccer website.

Freeman, an Oscar winning actor known for movies such as "Million Dollar Baby", is a member of the U.S. Bid Committee's Board of Directors. The veteran movie actor played South African leader Nelson Mandela in the 2009 film "Invictus", which told of the nation's hosting and win of the 1995 Rugby World Cup Championship and its struggle to unite amid racial tensions.
