Schwarzenegger honored by EPA

LOS ANGELES The /*EPA*/'s regional administrator, Jared Blumenfeld, presented the governor with the agency's Environmental Climate Change Champion award at a ceremony held at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.

The agency said Governor /*Schwarzenegger*/ has made California a national and world leader in enacting some of the most ambitious policies to fight climate change.

"Because of our laws, California is now 40 percent more energy efficient than the rest of the nation," said Schwarzenegger. "We lead the nation in clean energy patents and in clean energy businesses and in the last few months we broke ground in the world's largest wind and solar project."

The governor said more than a third of the world's clean tech venture capital is invested in California.
