The stage is set - literally.
The announcement will be made inside the Android Industries Flint facility Wednesday morning.
"It's very exciting for Android and our partners Henkel and The Vehicle Production Group," Android Industries spokeswoman June Nagle said.
For the Flint area, the partnership promises jobs and manufacturing opportunities for Flint and Genesee County.
The focus is a vehicle called the MV-1 and what goes into making and coating it here. The Vehicle Production Group, or VPG, says the MV-1 is the world's first and ponly wheelchair-accessible mobility vehicle direct from the manufacturer.
"Android made a decision, along with Henkel and VPG, to reinvest in Flint," Nagle said.
It's hoped that the coating process will attract diverse and new customers for Android so the company can bring on more employees.
"Henkel is bringing their technology and their coating process, which is environmentally friendly," Nagle said. "VPG is bringing a brand-new product, which is a mobility vehicle for handicap access."
Everything will come together inside the Android facility, according to Nagle. "We're a sequencer and sub assembler, and so now we'll be able to add to our core technology with coating expertise as well."
The number of jobs involved will be announced Wednesday morning during an open house at Android.
ABC12 will be there.
