An older couple complained about a joke he made to them, and Toomey said it was the same joke he had been using on adult visitors for years.
"They sat on my lap, and I said, 'Have you been good this year?' And they said, 'Oh yes,' and I said, 'Oh well that's too bad.' Then I said, 'You know why Santa is so happy and jolly all the time don't you?' And they said, 'No we don't know,' and I said, 'Well that's because Santa knows where all the naughty boys and girls live,'" Toomey said.
Toomey claimed he never told jokes like that with kids and asked Macy's to reconsider.
As for a reaction, a Macy's spokeswoman said the store couldn't comment on personnel matters.
