Parents warned to buckle up babies on planes

December 10, 2010 12:53:56 AM PST
The National Transportation Safety Board held a forum Thursday in Washington D.C. for a new push to get parents to buckle up their children in child safety seats on airplanes. Currently, parents are allowed to hold their infants on their lap and secure them with their own seatbelts, but the NTSB said the practice is unsafe.

They said there have been several incidents where babies sitting on parents' laps have been flung through the air.
