Families camp out overnight for toy giveaway

LOS ANGELES, Calif. "I think we should stay here all night because my dad doesn't have no money to get some Barbies or anything," said 9-year-old Kassandra Revas.

Almost 200 people were camped out, some as early as Friday morning, for the annual toy giveaway at the Hollenbeck Youth Center in Boyle Heights. For those in need this may be the only Christmas present they'll get.

"It's very hard. I don't have a job right now. I'm on unemployment so I have to stay here for my family," said Juan Lopez.

"We expect to do more than 5,000 people," said Jose Correa, who works at the youth center. "We're a little bit short of our goal right now so hopefully we'll be able to accomplish that goal."

From bikes to Barbies, skateboards to soccer balls, the gifts were ready to go and so were those out in line.

The giveaway runs from 8:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will be on hand to help hand out toys.
