Redondo Beach Harbor Patrol and lifeguards found him unconscious in the water.
He was rushed to the hospital by helicopter. He was declared dead a short time later around 1 p.m.
Authorities said conditions were perfect Sunday and many recreational divers were out, Dinsdale just had an unfortunate accident.
