NFL, Jets reviewing tripping incident

NEW YORK Jets strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi tripped Miami Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll as he ran down the sidelines in the Dolphins-Jets game on Sunday.

Carroll was down on the ground for several minutes before returning to the game.

Alosi could face discipline from the NFL and his own team.

Alosi issued a statement after the game saying he made a mistake that "showed a total lapse in judgment. My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for."

The NFL said Monday that it is reviewing the incident.
