6.5-mag. quake hits Iran, kills at least 7

TEHRAN, Iran The quake struck in the southeastern part of the country. Officials say the epicenter was three miles below ground.

The strong earthquake damaged homes and tore down telephone lines, and rescue crews pulled survivors from the rubble.

Officials say 33 people were injured.

Iran has a lot of fault lines and is prone to earthquakes. Officials say the country experiences at least one slight earthquake every day.
