Suspect w/ knives shot to death by deputy

LANCASTER, Calif. Authorities were in the 6800 block of Agave Street to conduct a narcotics-related search warrant, but when they tried to contact the suspect, he became hostile and unleashed his dog at deputies.

Police say the dog charged at a deputy, who shot and wounded the dog.

The suspect armed himself with two butcher knives and threw one at a deputy, missing him, but when he was about to throw the second knife, the deputy fired his weapon.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect's dog was taken by the county animal control department.
