Driver kills bicyclist in Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. Authorities said a dark-colored Toyota 4Runner struck the bicyclist at Brookhurst Street and Villa Pacific Lane at about 5:30 p.m. The driver did not stop and fled the scene.

The bicyclist was struck a second time by another car, but that driver remained at the scene.

The victim, 69-year-old Jurgen Ankenbrand of Huntington Beach, was declared dead at the scene.
