CA officials: 2010 Census data not correct

LOS ANGELES Earlier this week, the Census Bureau released numbers showing /*California*/ has 37.3 million residents.

But the state Department of Finance said that number is about 1.5 million short.

Because funding for many programs is based on population, that discrepancy could mean California gets significantly less money than state leaders were counting on.

And according to the Los Angeles Times, it may have cost the state a seat in the House of Representatives.
