Woman dies after rescue from IE floodwaters

Crews used a boat to rescue a woman after her car ended up submerged in about 10 feet of water in Chino on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010.

A woman who was rescued from floodwaters in Chino on Saturday has died in the hospital, according to officials. Authorities said the woman drove around a barricade on Euclid Street Saturday night. Her car ended up submerged in about 10 feet of water.

A bystander saw what happened and was able to wade through the water and pull her out of the sunroof.

When rescue crews arrived on scene, they found both the woman and bystander waiting on top of the vehicle.

Crews used a boat to bring both of them to safety.

The woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Officials have not released her name.

The Good Samaritan was treated and released at the scene.
