DA allowing new lab tests in Jackson doc case

LOS ANGELES Prosecutors say attorneys for Dr. Conrad Murray can take half the residue left in syringes and other medical items in Jackson's bedroom and have them tested by a private laboratory.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges in Jackson's death.

Defense attorneys want to know how much anesthetic and painkiller were in the items.

The judge in the case has said testing is not necessary to determine if there's enough evidence to order Murray to stand trial.

The judge will hear arguments on the tests on Wednesday - six days before Murray is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing to determine if there is enough evidence for the cardiologist to stand trial.
