Ventura man booked for assault, imprisonment

VENTURA, Calif. Ned Barron, 44, was charged with assaulting Lori Grote, 46, who he argued with in his trailer on Monday. He allegedly locked her in the trailer and would not let her leave.

Barron allegedly continued Tuesday to assault her, then stabbed her in her left arm. Later Tuesday morning escaped the trailer. She was able to stop a Ventura County Fire engine and have her injuries treated.

Ventura officers found Barron in his trailer at 134 W. Ramona about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday. They found he had a stab wound in his back. Barron was treated for his injury, then booked at Ventura County Jail.

Neither stab wound was considered life-threatening.
