Genetic defect may be at root of baldness

According to scientists, a genetic defect in scalp cells that make new hair may be the cause of baldness.

What makes you to go bald? Scientists think a genetic defect may cause the problem.Researchers examined scalp samples and they found those that were bald had run out of progenitor cells that make new hair.

The bald samples still had adult stem cells, but for some reason those cells didn't change into progenitor cells anymore.

Scientists say the findings could suggest baldness is potentially reversible.
