A Riverside County Animal Services officer impounded a deer for the second time in his career.Officer Will Luna first impounded a deer in September 2009 in Glen Avon where the animal was being kept as a pet - which is against California law.

Tuesday evening, Luna was called in to help retrieve yet another deer. This time, the deer was running loose on Collett Avenue, just west of Pierce Street and La Sierra University.

A Corona officer first responded but realized the animal was in Riverside's jurisdiction. So, in came Officer Luna.

The deer was on a leash, making the handoff smooth.

Luna said soon, people are going to start calling him "the deer whisperer."
