Audience rescues young singer at hockey game

January 12, 2011 12:00:00 AM PST
An 8-year-old girl was singing the national anthem before a hockey game between the Norfolk Admirals and the Connecticut Whales when her microphone cut out.

After a moment of silence, the entire crowd picked up the song, finishing it along with the young singer, Elizabeth.

The video of the good sportsmanship is making the rounds online on YouTube.

There was word on what caused the technical glitch, but she has been invited to sing at another Norfolk home game this season.
